The island - Aix in France
The island of Aix is a French island, close to island of ré and island of oléron it's a small island of 119 ha.
Access to the island is done entirely by sea, and you can use maritime link from ile de ré or la Rochelle during the summer season. On the isalnd you can descover fortifications the first forticications were build by Vauban, then consolidated by Napoléon 1st, you can visit : the height of the harbor, fort Liédotle, Fort Boyard, and the fortified village. You can bring your own boat and use mooring buoy for 12 € a day or 45 € a week (contact the marina).
